110 is the norm, just as in the States. No converters needed. Never been to Bucches, so I can't hep you there. I will say that swim suits are only the norm at beachside lunch stands. I wouldn't go to a restaurant wearing one. As a matter of fact, wearing a swimsuit in downtown Charlotte Amailie on STT is a ticketable offense. Swimsuits are for the beach. Most places accept "island casual" attire. Shoes or sandals, shorts or slacks, dresses or skirts, button-up or pull-over shirts. Avoid T-shirts for dinner, but they probably won't turn you away. Then again, if you were to wear a suit, you'd be the only one! haha!

Hello Coach,

Bacchus, Great food & service!! (Marty it's on St. Croix).

For Bacchus - Slacks and a polo shirt or a long sleeve button up shirt for Mr. Coach and for Mrs. Coach slacks and a blouse, a nice casual dress or nice capris and a blouse.

Some places are more casual... where else is on your dining list?

Since we have no open container laws, it is OK to drink while you drive (NOT drunken, though!), walk around town with a cocktail in a plastic cup, walk in and out of bars and restaurants with a cocktails in hand....nothing like the States!

Coach,

For a nice atmosphere we found The Terrace at the Bucanneer was very nice! We called ahead and asked for a reservation for a table by the wall that has a great view of Christiansted and the island out that way. Beautiful seeing the lights coming on and the ocean as the sun went down. Even tho the Bucanneer is an expensive place to stay, we found the price of the food to be about the same as other nice places around St. Croix.

There are very many nice restaurants around St. Croix we found out! (the fun way of course!) Most are more casual than you think they will be. Open air, plastic chairs, etc. just gives it that 'tropical' feel. Don't be fooled by appearances--- every restaurant we ate at we enjoyed.

A great website to go to for information on places to eat while vacationing on St. Croix is
www.stcroixscuba.com/restaurants.htm
Ed Buckley gives the names of the good, better, best restaurants, their phone #, what kind of food they serve, where they're located, and what kind of credit cards they accept. Very helpful .

To us though, you can't beat the atmosphere at The Terrace at the Bucanneer at night. Maybe it was the rum punches... I don't know... but if your wife is wanting an 'upscale tropical' setting , that might be the place!

Hello Coach,

Dining on St. Croix suggestions...

Bacchus, Tutu Bene, Terrace at Buccaneer... (those three would be a little dressier then the following), Mermaid at Buccaneer for lunch, Rumrunners, Fort Christian Brew Pub, Breezez (at those you can wear shorts and t-shirt or polo). And Off the Wall restaurant (you can wear your swim trunks & t-shirt there:-) - great food, casual atmosphere.

Enjoy.
