Just to let everyone know (just incase you are arriving soon) that the Donkey Diner in Coral Bay is closed until further notice 🙁 Hopefully they will be up and running soon - best breakfast in Coral Bay (possibly STJ) and great pizza !!

Pardon my French but that totally sucks.
Any details as to why?

Probably shut down by health dept. I've been in the kitchen before. Yikes.

We were closed as the owner's mother had four strokes and was left in a poor condition. We needed to take care of our family, and were sorry we had to leave closing Doney Diner's doors during this busy time of year.

We have never been closed down by the health department, receiving 98/100 on our last report by them. Anyone who has ever been here knows our kitchen is an open area and it is easy to see inside.

Thanks Pia for posting your message to let people know about us. Your comments were much appreciated! We will re-open on Thursday 13th April at 8am, resuming regular hours.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond on this message board.

I'd like you to know that my husband and I had one of the best mornings of our vacation eating at the picnic table and watching two donkeys chase each other back and forth up and down the street and veering onto the patio at one point (I assume it was mating season)! It's an experience we'll never forget.

Oh, and most importantly, we love your breakfast and enjoyed your pizza too! That pizza is the most affordable food on the island and a nice change from eating out!

We love your kick ass food!

From my posted trip report further down the page...

"Dockey Diner in Coral bay is temporarily closed, due to family illness back {in Great Britain {?}.

Our friends, Diane and Barry who live in Coral Bay, raved about it, hopefully it will reopen soon. We had so hoped to have their pizza and enjoy breakfast there"

Hope your mother is doing better. Glad to know you will soon reopen and it just means we will have to make a trip back to enjoy your hospitality!! Drats!
