Hello all,
Just a quick question. Wanted to know if anyone is aware of a swim with dolphins program on St.Croix? Will be visiting in February and am interested in this activity. Any other suggestions to do while on the island would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Oh, oh, you picked a real sore spot in the minds of alot of message boarders. If you scan back many pages you'll find lots of ideas on what to do on any of the islands but the dolphin program (or the incarceration of innocent animals program) will present itself as a hot topic. Surely, you can find tons of wonderful things to do in the VIs without participating in something that exploits caged living creatures!
Oh didn't want to offend anyone. Didn't necessarily mean to swim with dolphins in a pool or park setting. We have been to Mexico where we were in the wather with dolphins during a snorkling outing, also in Mexico there is a lagoon (natural area) to swim with dolphins as well. That is what we had in mind.
No, there is thankfully no swim with dolphins program on any of the U.S. Virgin islands.
You can, however occasionally run into dolphins while diving. It's pretty exciting and talked about among the dive shops for days.
As far as other things to do on STX? There are so many things to do it's hard to know where to start. A frequent poster named Joanne wrote an extensive list a while back. You can find the list by searching for her postings.
WineGoddess,
I'm still singed from the flaming I got for telling some one who asked a similar question about the outfit on Tartola.
