Has anyone seen or swam with dolphins in St. John? We would love to see them in the wild, not in captivity.
Hello Kiki,
Some have reported seeing a dolphin (the same one each year) just off of Cruz Bay.
I don't know of any regular dolphin hang outs around St. John where you could be sure to find them and have the oppurtunity to swim with them.
There was a recent discussion on our relocation board about dolphins - check it out at http://www.vimovingcenter.com/talk/read.php?4,32539,32607

Dear Islander,
You are so gracious to reply to all of our messages. Thank you for taking care of of us and thanks for the great insight and information!
Joyfully,
Kiki
Kiki,
I've seen dolphins playing around with the boaters in White Bay on Jost Van Dyke (just a few miles north of St. John), so I 'spose it's possible they could visit the bays on St. John as well. I don't know of anyplace they hang out as a rule though, so seeing them is a pretty hit-or-miss proposition.
I've seen dolphins on numerous trips between STJ and Jost - they follow our boat surfacing and diving.
You are very welcome Kiki. Have a great time and I hope you see some Dolphins :).
