My girlfriend and I are planning to go relax and have some fun between the dates of March 17th and March 27th. We are trying to pin point a location where there will not be a huge number of spring breakers running around. We are in our early 30's and just want to relax in the sun, somewhere beautiful, and have a little night life fun with the locals. Any suggestions?

St John, St John, St John..... did I mention... St John... The quietest most serene of the islands. If you want pure relaxation this is where to come ...

Sorry to disagree, but Necker Blows STJ away! Peter does, too!

Go with Necker Island.

(For those of you not "in the know", Necker is a 74 acre, private island owned by Richard Branson, the gazillionaire. It costs something like $27K per day. Yes, per DAY!!!! Haha! Peter Island is not quite as much, but it's still outrageous.)

Hello Norma,

A little more on what you are looking for please... we don't get a lot of spring breakers here, a few but not a whole lot. You can relax & have a little nightlife on any of the 4 US Virgin Islands. What else might you want; resort, villa; diving/kayaking/rent a boat; hiking; lots of shopping; historical sites... something else?

St. Croix is the place you're looking for. Look throughout posts on this website and other websites....you're describing St. Croix in your question ".....not be a huge number of spring breakers running around. We are in our early 30's and just want to relax in the sun, somewhere beautiful, and have a little night life fun with the locals."

Great island, very relaxed, some of the best beaches of the US/BVI and very easliy accessible. Its airport code is STX. American, Delt and not sure who else fly there.

Enjoy your trip to the Big Virgin.

Hello!

Yes, I have suggested St. John because a friend of mine told me that it was one of the most beautiful islands that enjoyed while she was out that way. I have not been to St. John yet, but I was over at St. Thomas and thought that I would like to head out to St. John someday. The only thing I am concerned about...Is this one of the islands where there is a lot of couples floating around and two single women, coming to relax and have a little fun, would feel awkward with all the love birds hanging around? 🙂

Thanks!

But I don't think that 27K a day is an option for me at this time. hahahaha! Maybe when I become rich and famous, I will look into it.

Hi! Thanks for responding...
Well, let's see here....
I would say that we would definitely like to do a little shopping, some kayaking maybe, beautiful sand beaches with some volleyball players that are not too territorial and will let a girl show what she can do out on the sand! A little night life with good music to dance to and not completely jam packed with lots of women and not enough men...:) And the place we want to stay in has to have somewhere that we can work out. Does this help?

Thanks Ali!

I never even considered St. Croix. I will look into it. I have been to St. Thomas, Barbados, Aruba, and Martinique. Of course when I went to these places, it was just for a short time on the island because I was on a cruise. I decided that I wanted to return. I just didn't know where to. Out of those islands, St. Thomas and Aruba were the ones I enjoyed the most. I will look more into St. Croix.

I believe that my friend and I have decided on St. Thomas and St. John as our choice of destinations to go to in March.

Anyone have suggestions of resorts to stay in? Preferably all-inclusive with beautiful beaches?

Hello Norma,

Resorts on St. John - your choices would be either Westin or Caneel Bay.

On St. Thomas you might look at Wyndham Sugar Bay, Ritz Carlton, Sapphire Beach Resort or Secret Harbor Resort. You will want to rent a car so you can beach hop, most resort properties only have one beach, Ritz being an exception that you have access to two beaches there. It isn't easy to walk between beaches so a rental car or taking a taxi is necessary.
