My name is Dedrick Henry and I currently live in Atlanta, GA. I am a descendant of the island of Montserrat. I was in the USVI as recent as February, visiting my uncle who lives in St. Thomas (Anna’s Retreat).
Many of you (especially those living in the Virgin Islands) are aware of the "racial conflicts" that have occurred in St John. First of all, I want to say I am not here to spread hate, but the opposite, to help bring love and peace. That’s one reason I am bothered by the events in St. John.
Among things, I am an independent video producer. I am interested in doing a documentary on the conflicts in St. Johns. I have read various articles on this situation, for example: "Injustice, frustration and disparity spur outrage at rally in St. John" by Tim Fields ( http://www.demo.cpsgpublishing.com/index.pl/article_home?id=8911173) and "St. John businessman found guilty of assault charge upped to felony because of racial bias" by Joseph Tsidulko ( http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/article_home?id=17592511).
In these articles two groups are mentioned: St. Croix-based citizens group "We the People for Justice" and the "V.I. Unity Day group" out of St. John. Does anyone have any contact information for these groups? Also, if anyone has any information they feel will be helpful in me getting more information for this documentary, please, please also let me know. Please let me know any questions and/or comments you have. Thank you for your time, efforts, and assistance.

Mario Moorehead (or something like that), I think heads up that group in St Croix. He used to have a radio program on 1000 AM. He was also mentioned in quite a few articles when the situation started last year.

I'm almost sure that names for the group on St John were also mentioned last year. I think you need to check the Daily News' archives which are probably not online, and may be accessible only by going to their building.

I emailed you via your post (email address hidden) so if that didn't go through, you can PM me on this forum by simply clicking onto my posted name. That melee is an issue which I have no desire to get into on an open forum but I can both offer you history on this and guide you towards what is "real' where this is concerned.
