Could someone please advise my fiance & I as to which resort (Divi or Carambola) would work best for us?

We will be getting married in Frederiksted in July and we have children on the guestlist. Our concern is that the trip from Divi to the church may be too much (time & expense). At the same time, we haven't heard much about the Carambola being kid friendly.

Could someone please give us some insight?

Thanks in advance

Plan on an hour, one way, for the trip from Divi to Fredricksted, maybe a little more or less, depending on traffic and time of day.

Divi will be better for children. There are more activities and restaurants nearby. Carambola is a mixed bag, some love it others - not so much. It's in beautiful surroundings and near some fun restaurants and Cane Bay Beach on the North shore. Neither would be my choice for a stay with children and a marriage in F'sted. Have you considered Hibuscus Beach Resort, or the Palms at Pelican Bay, or even Cottages by the Sea or Sandcastles on the Beach?

This is a tough one. Anyone else have an opinion?

Divi is great for kids, but yes, that is a looong drive to Frederiksted!

Regarding Hibiscus and Palms—there are frequent sewage spills in the area where they are located. I personally wouldn't want to risk a ruined vacation with sewage in the ocean.

Two really good options for families, near Christiansted (and far away from the sewage problems) is the Tamarind Reef Hotel ( http://www.usvi.net/hotel/tamarind/), or Chenay Bay ( http://www.chenaybay.com/) Check them out!
