We will be staying at Divi Carina April 9-12 (Easter Weekend). Is there anything special happening that weekend (or not happening) due to the Holiday? I saw the previous post re: nightspots / dancing. We like to dance. We will have a car. Any favorite spots for dinner, drinks, entertainment, etc. Are any of the beaches "European" or is that outside the USVI? Anyone else in town that weekend to hookup for drinks?

Boy, by all the responses you'd think nobody goes to St.Croix. Ok, since you have a car a good place to eat is the Bombay Club in Christiansted. Great food, interesting atmosphere, and the prices are what you'd expect, about $20 +- an entree. And after dinner walk down to the waterfront and have drinks at the Fort Christian Brew Pub or Rum Runners. I believe Monday night is crab race night at The Ft.Christian Brew Pub, and there may be some entertainment, it draws a crowd.

Try Duggan's Reef restaruant. On the east end road directly across the island from the Divi. 1000 yards as the crow flys, couple of miles by car. Great food and they sometimes have entertainment.

Buccanner is also nice.

No "official" clothing optional beaches in the USVI.

"European style" is illegal in the USVI.

To the comment about noone goes to STX---well, when we made the room reservation, we heard a "yippee!!" on the other end.

Swimmer--we'll be in Christiansted area around the same time (10th-12th)...and a few others on the board will also be there, and have also suggested a drink.
Why don't we put out there a date, time, locale, and whoever comes, comes.
I'm game ---should we say "The Brew Pub" 9-10pm ish Saturday night the 10th.
(I think we're planning dinner at the Bombay before that)

We have found the best way to find a good place to eat on this island is to drive down a road until you see a sign in a parking lot or in front of a building that says "Restaurant". Stop the car, go in, and eat. I have yet to get a bad meal. You haven't lived until you've eaten lunch at the K-Mart. The ladies who work there make island dishes for the steamtable. They are great. If you can get a good meal at K-Mart, you can get one anywhere.

Hi Ric,
Thanks for the tidbit of info. Hey, the K-Marts here have cafeterias but they are yuck. It's good to know that the one there is ok. In other words don't bring the mainland attitude to the island. I would never have thought to give it a try. Now its a piece to remember in the back of my mind...
BTW
Are you Linda's Ric?

My husband and I will be doing more investigating on island from the 5-9th of April...
Could you let Linda know. I'll give a call to meet up with you both if that's ok...

Hello,

There is a Jazz event on Saturday. Not much else, you miss Taste of St. Croix by one day which would have been worth attending. In any case lots of other things to keep you busy and entertained.

By your post I take it you read my other post about Divi and things to do in the evening.
For casual Off the Wall and Cheeseburgers are good. Good happy hour and dinner at Rumrunners. Good lunch and atmosphere at beach side restaurant at Bucaneer Resort.

Have a great time - read the St. Croix trip review by Joanne posted 3-35-04 - lots of great info in there.
