We will be staying in Fish Bay and had plan to hike all over Ditleff Point. Now I hear there are 'no trespassing' signs posted and heavy equipment. We heard originally that we could hike from our villa but I'm not sure thats truebut hoped anyway to hike in from other points. Anyone have any input?
Not sure what the "rules" are as Ditleff Point is not part of the National Park. It has been subdivided and all of the lots are on the MLS and are in the process of being sold. There are private property signs up, so I would stick to the more popular hikes if I were you and not be crossing private property - there are plenty of great hikes you can do 🙂

When they announce the Cruz Bay Expressway...I'm outta there. 🙁
Well that does it. We're doing the Ditleff hike in June, "no trespassing" signs be darned! When I looked at the link that Mango posted I thought "better do it now while we still can". UGH! Janet, when are you going?

P.S. Does anyone have 4.5 mil they can spot me to buy a lot on Ditleff Point?! Crikey!
Strange. Some people look at an area like Ditleff and see beauty. Other people see underutilized land that could be profitable to develop.

I ran across the Ditliff web site a week or two ago and I read in the marketing piece a statement something to the effect of:.....St. John, for a select few....
I can't get that out of my head.
I think Lisa's got it right...check it out when you can before the select few move in. You may also want to check out Nanny Point before the select few barricade that off as well.
I'm concerned about trespassing. What's the law and what kind of trouble can you get into?
Considering the effectiveness of the STJ police, I doubt you would have any trouble with them. However, I recall reading that construction has begun, with heavy equipment starting to clear for the new road. As I understand, the trail is gone already, and there is no where to park.
