*Next year our cruise ship MSC Lirica will be in St Croix for 1 day. Is it possible to walk from the berth to town or would it be better to take a taxi?
Thankyou
Beverley

It depends. The ship will land in Fredricksted. This is the smaller of the two towns on STX. There will be shops, but not as many as Christiansted, the other town. How much time will you have? Why don't you plan on coming ashore, looking around, shopping, and then taking a taxi to C'sted for more shopping and lunch/Dinner?

If you snorkel, there are beaches near the pier to snorkel, swim or just lie around.

If you're into history or flowers, the Whim Museum and the St. George Botanical Gardens are between the two towns. I'm sure you can make arrangements with a taxi to make these side trips.

Remember the island is only 23 miles long and 3-5 miles wide.

Whatever you do, welcome to St. Croix.

Beverley,

What is your port of origin? Just curious to see where ships are coming from that are finally getting back to St. Croix. I hope more get started.

The ship leaves Fort Lauderdale on its way back to Genoa in Italy. It has been cruising your waters but going back to its home port for the Med summer. We are from Western Australia so will fly to Florida. Beverley

Hello Beverly,

As mentioned if its Frederiksted you are docking in then yes you can walk right into the town of Frederiksted. You would need to take a taxi to Christiansted. Is Christiansted where you meant by town??
