There seems to be 2 dinghy rental companies going out of Cruz Bay...
Noah's Little Arks
Calypso
The Calypso dinghy is $5 more per day, but has a seat for 2 and steering wheel - and a 50 hp engine.
The NLA dinghy has a 30 hp engine - no seat, tiller steering
Has anyone had experience with the Calypso dinghy? We've previously rented the tiller dinghy, but not the wheeled dinghy.
Sounds like a fun day, either way. Just looking for any feedback.
We rented from Calypso last year and out boating experience is basically steering motor boat, being able to know how to lift the motor if you get too shallow, water etiquette (staying out of way of other boats), etc. My husband used to do a a little sailing, but it has been a long time. We had no problems and had the larger boat with steering in the middle. We are also very cautious when boating. We had no problems other than the water was very rough. We left Cruz Bay and went to Waterlemon and had some fairly high waves so this made us a little nervous (at least the women) -- guys loved it!
Dreamconch - For one of the options:
Earlier this month we got the Noah's Little Ark Dinghy (Low Key Watersports) 14ft was about $95 for the half day, plus $10 gas fee. Optional $15 insurance. Had a great time.
