Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I can get 1-2 carat, quality diamonds at reasonable cost
and how much would they be?

Thanks.

StThomasGirl,

That's a huge range! What do you consider "qualiry"? Some people think cut is the most important (quality, not shape), some people think color or clarity are the most important.
There would be a big difference, for example, between a 1carat, G color, VS1 clarity, good cut, and a 2 carat, D color, FL/IF clarity, ideal cut.

What exactly are you looking for?

Might help to specify purpose (ring? earrings? pendant? dental adornment?),
acceptable color, clarity, and cut range.

Best of luck!

I am basically looking for a 2 carat stone asscher or radiant cut for a ring. Wanted to see how much the difference is between the states and St Thomas.

Thanks.

Do a lot of shopping at home before you come to the island. Then you will have a good idea of the prices and qualities that you want.

Try Cardow Diamond Center on Main Street. Good prices and good service.

StThomasGirl,

You won't find Asschers on St. Thomas (at least, I was unsuccessful in my search).
Do you want a Royal Asscher, or an Asscher cut?

Radiants are another specialized cut- I wouldn't imagine you could find them easily in STT.

I shopped around STT for an Asscher, to no avail. Asked lots of folks, even asked if people would special-order. Got either blank looks or "no, sorry...".

If you want, give me a shout via email, and we can continue discussion offline.

Best,

LR
