We have always rented from Budget or Avis at the airport and are considering Dependable. Anyone have any experience with their service and vehicles?

We've rented from Dependable for our last four trips. We've been happy with our experience. They do close a bit early and do not provide for late arrivals. We stay on St. John, so I go over the tires and spare and make certain everything is in good shape.

Cheers, Rick

I too have rented from Dependable on my last 4-5 trips and they are very friendly, accommodating and fairly priced. Check them out online and request a discount and a newer model jeep. You won't (should not) be disappointed. enjoy........

We rented a Jeep Wrangler from Dependable in June. Very reasonably priced. The rental process, pick-up and return were all handled beautifully by the very friendly staff. We would definitely rent from them again.

Our Jeep had no back window (vinyl), as we noted several of them did not, but this was not a very big deal to us since it served as a general good reminder that the cloth-topped vehicles are not for leaving valuables in. There was a torrential downpour on St. John which would have soaked all of all luggage through that open window if we hadn't had a "Neat Sheet" that we had brought for the beach to cover the opening. MacGyver would have been so proud. The front of the vehicle was leaky, too - soaked us inside the vehicle. I say this not to complain at all (actually made for a fun little adventure), but just to say if you think that sort of experience would not be fun just to be aware some of the vehicles may have these "quirks". We saw several Jeeps from different companies without back windows, so maybe these things just magically disappear. When we rented from Avis on a prior trip, we had a more "traditional rain-not-coming-in" experience. The Avis car cost quite a bit more, though. The Dependable Jeep was only a couple of years old. The 4WD was definitely helpful in the rain.
