What is the weather like in St. John in the month of December? We usually vacation in St. John in July.
Hi Rainaud,
The weather here is pretty consistent... its summer during every season! 🙂 That said, it does get a little cooler in December, low 80s rather than high 80s that are common in July. Residents often notice the 4-5 degree difference, however if you are coming from somewhere that the weather report includes words like snow, ice and wind chill factor then low 80's is terrifically perfect. Evenings in December can be a little chilly (mid-70s) and some might want a light jacket if they plan to eat out at night in open air restaurants. The water temperature is a bit cooler too but just by a few degrees as compared to summer months. And as far as rain, we usually get a little more rain in December than July but not a very big difference.

It is better than where I'll be in December
Where's that VI Bound? And what's the December weather like at that location?

At this point in time we're freezing in NH but you never know where we'll be tomorrow. If we have our way USVI will soon be home.
VIBound - I pulled up monthly weather stats for NH (randomly picked a city) and :-o... the highest mean temperature was 68 degrees and that was in July, the month the report said was the warmest! By island standards it sounds like folks in NH are freezing all year round. BBBRRRR!

When Mrs. NotAHippie and I were in STJ in 2008, we were chatting with some folks at Coral Bay. One fellow told us that he remembers one time it got so cold in STJ that he had to buy a long sleeved shirt! *Buy* one - as in, he didn't even OWN a long sleeved shirt. How cold did it get? The general agreement was that the temp had dropped to about 75-76 degrees for a day.
Visitors always get a laugh when they see the school kids in January wearing coats. But, hey, if you are accustomed to 85, 70 is COLD!!
