well ....ok so you remember my husband and i just went to secret harbour in st thomas back labor day week(see other old post)

.i am not believing that i am going back so soon but when my girlfriends at work saw the pix from Secret Harbour and St thomas/st. john...they talked me into going (took a lot to convince me sure!) for a girls long weekend! we started with three days friday going home monday now it is thursday going home wednesday!
well i couldn't think of a better way to use up those old airline miles!

so now i need advice on what to do with the ladies.....the couples' things are fine but the two girls i am going with ARE SINGLE...one is 45 ish and one is 35ish....i am 55ish ...lol
they both love a good time and would love to go out at night or in the day where other singles might be...
we will enjoy the beach at secret harbour but i am sure that it will be mostly couples ....

it is the FIRST TIME in the virgin islands for both of them so i look forward to being tour guide....
they work very long hours and are looking forward to a rest BUT i am sure at night or some days too they might want to socialize...
there might be places some of you can suggest that would be good for them .....
i can always keep the beach chairs warm back at the hotel! with my large frozen margarita..

we are still debating whether to rent a car.....sure realize how nice it is to have your husband do the driving!! especially on the other side of the road...

i guess TOWN will be a must for shopping
a smaill day trip to st john to go to one of the great beaches and town
SHOULD WE JUST TAKE THE FERRY BY FOOT.....i hate the thought of backing into that ferry with the car! yikes....and also is it easy to get a taxi back to town from cinnamon or trunk bay....or hawksnest?

also any hotels/clubs that have parties at night?

i know i know....i will soon need the rehab clinic for VIRGINISLANDSAHOLICS!

PIX from september

Ginger, you are such a virgin island junkie. One hit and you're hooked. Now here you go corrupting your good friends. Shame on you!

There was a recent thread on the singles scene. Might want to look it up. Duffy's and Shipwreck come to mind.

patrick thanks so much! yes i am a junkie and proud of it!
but actually i was 'hooked' a long time ago back in the 70's and 80's and then went off the stuff for about 15 years
and yes ONE HIT AND I WAS HOOKED AGAIN..
but secret harbour...oh sorry it's a secret....

(some friends were trying to talk us into going to turks and caicos or san juan instead for the nightlife but i talked them out of it!)

gin

ps....thanks yes duffy's is a great idea my husband didn't want to go there so now i can try it out
i checked those other posts and bumped them up you are right it sounds like RED HOOK is the perfect place for single women....
and it is close to our hotel....
also i am thinking some of the places in frenchtown ???

island paul.....you have to help me with the girls they will be a handfull!

Ginger: Frenchtown would indeed be a good place to try. It is a bit of a drive, so you might want to take a cab, especially if you are thinking of having cocktails! 😉 It is a good area to bar hop and dine. Hook, Line and Sinker, Epernay, Alexander's Bella Blu, Tuscan Grill, Betsy's, Noche and Craig and Sally's are all on the tour. You can walk around and see if one looks like your kind of place. I think of Frenchtown as a bit more grown up than Red Hook.

well I have been told that iam a TRIP, I dont want to be one I wanna go on one ! yes Iam a little crazy about St. John the best part for me is the driving on the hills and the view and the laid back attitude they all have well most ... The locals are more friendly than us mainlanders... so Ginger where do you live ? Iam in Florida (central ) and very sad about summer being so far away .. I plan to be there June to July @ Maho ! its cheap and I love the place Yolanda

well better you than I in NYC ...although I would love to visit for a few days I love St. John not St Thomas ,so Iam gonna say rent a villa high on hillside, rent a jeep from cool breezes ask for Alphonso hes nice. or Felix hes nice too... and just drive from beach to beach . I was drunk with joy while doing this all by my self and I choose to be there alone.. no one could understand that. I was so much at peace(3 kids) go figure why.. It was freaking awesome. Iam 41 by the way
So when is your next trip , mine wont be till june (sad)..see for me every trip is just a step closer to one day staying there , cause one day there gonna all piss me off anf off I go .. I love them but I also love peace peace out
Yolanda
Thanks for your replys

sounds like a grea trip.....i can see why you want to stay in st john next time.....
why not compromise and stay at secret harbour so you are close to the ferry three minutes...this way you can enjoy the best of both islands...secret harbour is A TREASURE....
