Me again!
Does anyone know what kind of chance you stand of walking up to a boat renter with a captain for a day trip to BVI and because he is not booked getting a good deal. $1000 is just a little much for our group."Deal or No Deal"

I would say no deal. I assume that you are talking about a power boat rental.Depending on the time of year, they could be booked. They probably don't have captains sitting around waiting to see if someone shows up with out a reservation.
If you are talking about a day sail, there don't hang out in any specific place, so you probably won't find them wandering around looking for charter guests.

As a charter boat business owner and captain I would say no deal. Mostly you are not going to find the boat or captain of the boat you are looking to propose a last minute deal for standing around a dock somewhere like xislandgirl pointed out.. When we get random days off we have lots of things to do and value the day off. Also, most boats do not offer off season rates, or cash discounts like the Villa rental companies. If you have 6 or fewer people take a look at our website, we advertise on VINOW under St. John Activities - Lion In Da Sun. A full day charter is $475 plus fuel and customs.
