We are going on a cruise in May and wil be in St. Thomas for the day. I have seen somewhere that there are Tour operators that have sailboats that do a Daysail for 2-6 people. Does anyone have advice on a good one to try and how much the cost would be? It will probably be just the two of us, so we would only need one that takes 2-6 people. Thanks for any help!

Try http://www.newhorizonsvi.com (they are groups through, but take couples and smaller parties)
You will find that many of the charters go to St. John, You can try Winifred at http:www/sailwinifred.com . Or Independence (340)7751408.

Captain Nautica you can call them at (340)715-3379. Another one that does the B.V.I is Stormy Petrel and Pirates Penny at (340)7757990 - Stormy holds 12

There are others also.

I went with the sailboat Fantasy last October. The captains Pam and Brian are very nice people, they serve you food and drinks, and have snorkel equipment on board. The take 4 to 6 people on their pretty boat. They took us to Hawksnest Bay on St. John, the water there has the most amazing colours. And there's a barracuda there, named "Barry". 🙂

We also stoppped near Caneel Bay for some more snorkeling. It was a very relaxing and perfect day.

They ask 100 $ per person, if you pay in cash.

Another trip I did was with the New Horizons II, but that was a powerboat, not a sailboat. They take up to 16 people and take you to the nicest places on the British Virgin Islands. I enjoyed that trip a lot, too.

If you have questions, feel free to ask me.

Thanks to you both for the information! I've checked into the Winifred and I think that's the one we are going to go with. Captain Sharon has e-mailed me a few times with details and it sounds like alot of fun! Thanks again!

Gisela-
I did not realize that New Horizon was a powerboat. Thanks for the info. Are you familiar w/the Captain Max "Lou"? I really have no idea what daysailing trip to take. I do not want alot of people on the boat. I hate crowds when I am on vacation. Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. What about the Heavenly Days trip?

Hello Peggy,

There is New Horizon and New Horizon II... two different boats/itineraries - same owners.

http://www.newhorizonsvi.com/

If you want a small group then you might try a 6 pack (6 passengers max)... which Captain Max is.

Heavenly Days is a Catamaran, group trip.
