Hey there -
I am currently in the process of trying to book a day trip to BVI while I am in St. Thomas. I am looking at trips offered by the Charter Boat Center and Limnos Charters. Which one of these two do you recommend? Also, if you know of any other company that offers a similar trip that recommend, please let me know.
Thanks,
Eric
My wife and I were there May 18-25th. We went on a boat called Breakaway and it was a great trip. It is a 55' yacht, with a restroom and freshwater shower onboard. Always captained by Kelvin and his assistant Tamira (?). They supply all of the drinks (beer, sodas, bottled water). They take you to the Baths, and then to Norman Island to eat at Willy T's (which is a floating restaurant in a perfect cove), and then off to two snorkel stops......barracuda, turtles, caves, etc on the first stop. The second stop was voted one of the top 100 best dive spots. We saw the Limnos boat at the Baths and the first dive spot, but do not know about the other stops that they make. Limnos carries up to ~40 people, while Breakaway carries only ~25. We loved the boat (barely felt the seas at all), and Kelvin and Tamira were so friendly and helpful (they were the tour guides on the snorkel tours).
It was probably the highlight of our trip. Hope this helps.....
The trips from Charter Boat Center on Pirate's Penny and Stormy Petrel carry a max of 10 people. They go to Spanish Town and the Baths on Virgin Gorda, stop at Cooper Island for lunch (extra) and then a stop at the Indians for a last snorkel. Small, great crew and a great lunch. I believe it is $110 plus customs and lunch. Have fun
Robert P., How much (per person) was your trip on the Breakaway?
It was ~$100 plus customs and lunch.
