Planning a day trip (by ferry) to Road Town to shop, explore, etc. I am interested in restaurant recommendations for lunch. Also, what are some "must do" activities while on the island? Thanks!!
The day trip is amazing try and book the one that stops at the Indians for snorkeling and the island restaurant on the way for lunch. I had some friends who took the same day trip to Tortola but insted went with the boat from the Westin. They did not like it that much. I liked the Sun Dog Cafe for lunch. It is downtown and you can sit outside and the chicken was good. Water Lemon Key was a great place to snorkel yes it is a hike but worth the effort. The star fish were amazing you can flip them over and watch them flip themselves back. Salt pond was a good place to see sea turtles. The food is real expensive! We have been several times and gotten in the habit of packing most of it in a suite case. Peanut butter, bread and jelly will run you about 15.00 - 25.00 in the store. CRAZINESS. On our first trip we spent a lot of money we wanted to "do it right" honestly the only thing worth spending any money on was the Tortola trip. The sailing and parasailing, Coralworld (Went to St.Thomas for the day) not worth the time or money.
Hello Larry you might take a look at:
JR O'Neal Botanical Gardens (contains about four acres of indigenous and exotic plants.)
Sage Mountain National Park - Mount Sage, at 1,780 feet, is the highest point in the British Virgin Islands. The National Park offers visitors easy hiking on well-maintained paths that overlooked beautiful vistas.
Cane Garden Bay, one of Tortola's most popular beaches. It offers you protected swimming on a beautiful white sand beach. Lined with shops, restaurants and local bars.
