Has anyone done a day sail on either the White Wing or the Survivan? Mainly interested in a leisurely sail in USVI waters to see the islands from the water. Appreciate any comments about these sloops/cutters or any others that you liked. Prefer sailing out of Coral Bay since we are staying on that end of the island.
UFProf,
Survivan is out of Great Cruz Bay. I believe it's a 40' Jenneau. We had a nice trip with them to Jost and back.
You'll need to meet them at the Westin dinghy dock. I've tried to book on White Wing, but he's always
full. When are you going to be there? I think some captains move their boats or put them on the hard
for hurricane season.

We will be there first two weeks in Nov. We were there last year in Oct and most captains had their boats out of the water of maintenance since it was the low, low season. I understand most should be sailing in Nov. Thanks for the info on Survivan.
We've only sailed with Phil Chalker on his Wayward Sailor, which we've enjoyed very much. I've always thought I'd really enjoy going out on Breath with Peter Muilenberg. Peter's been on STJ for decades and built his boat there. He's out of Coral Bay. Just to spend a little time with him would be a real treat. He's written a book which I enjoyed---"Adrift on a Sea of Blue Light".
Here's his site:
We called White Wing based on recommendations on this board, but he was in the middle of building a house, so he referred us to Long Distance. We really enjoyed our time on the Long Distance with Rick and Robin Gallup.
I don't know where to send you, UFProf, but it sure sounds nice!
