Hi All,

We are a group of 2 travelling to St. Thomas. I am looking into the option of Day sails as an activity, but my seaches only found private day sails. Can any one shed light on the available non-private day sail trips and the approximate cost?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Don't like to do this normally (sorry Islander) check out my site at www.vicl.org and go to the member catalog under daysails. If you don't find anything there email me ....

Good evening. I'll throw in a good word for Sharon and her boat Winifred. Winifred is a beautiful wooden yawl (not glass, an added plus) that we sailed on during our last trip to the islands waaaay to long ago (2000). We had a great time during our daysail. The food was very good, the drinks better and the hospitality was perfect.

I see you can link there from Pamela's site but the web address is www.sailwinifred.com. I cannot remember the price exactly but 85-95 a head sounds familiar. I guess my wife and I'll have to go back and get a more updated quote for you. 🙂

Matt

Thanks for sharing the web site, lots of info and well put togther.
So many nice boats and day sails to choose from. The prices a bit steep however, I dont want to buy the boat just rent it for a few hours.

TXgal: The boats you are looking at are crewed sail boats. If you want to rent a sail boat yourself and sail around, most beaches have Sunfish and the like. As I understand it, currently there is no "big" boat day rental.

New Horizons and Bolongo (bolongabay.com)run a laidback daysail to St. John on sail boats. New horizon also has a Faster paced trip on a power boat called Breakaway (visitbreakaway.com)to the BVI (They visit The Baths of Virgin Gorda, Lunch at Pussers at Marina Cay and the Soggy Dollar Bar at Jost Van Dyke) about $120 per person, lunch cost and and fee to enter BVI, (which requires a passport). All are fun, just depends on what you want. You can expect to spend at least $85.00 on any daysails. I have also done many of the private daysails with good results. One 1/2 daysail that comes to mind is Gypsy Spirit (about $60.00 per person at vi-sun-n-fun.com I think)
