Hi Again...
I have contacted Ike Witt Charters about a day sail. It sounds like a nice layed back day with lots of snorkling if that's what you want. Captain Pat sounds like lots of fun. They also told me about Charter Boat Center to arrange for a fishing trip.

Does anyone know anything about either of these and/or can recommend other options?

This is a wonderful website with lots of great information. Thanks to all who have replied to my posts.

Marie

Hi Marie,
We spent a great day with Captain Pat on Ike Witt this past April. Captain Pat is quite a character and you are correct, he is fun. He is originally from my home state of Wisconsin and has that "down to earth" nature about him. He gave us a snorkel lesson off of what he calls "Stacey's Beach" in Hawksnest Bay St. John. He is a great story teller - some I think were true and others I'm sure were tales. He jumped in the water with us and showed us "his coral" and called out "his fish friends". You will have a smile on your face all day long. He served a fresh fruit plate which had the best pear I have ever tasted on it. A chicken caesar salad for lunch, fresh bread and dessert. He has free drinks including a rum punch. Captain Pat stays in the Virgin Islands year round and seems to be friends with most everyone. He even went out of his way to return something to me that I had left on his boat. The boat is nothing fancy but Captain Pat is one of a kind. Tell him the couple who brought him a Wisconsin sausage say Hi.

Pat is indeed a great captain. All who go on his daysail recommend him. And Jonathan/DoubleHeader is the ONLY charter boat I'll fish with now. You WILL catch fish! So many that the captain will be yelling "Fish on!" and you'll be making excuses why someone else should grab the rod. "You get it, I'm drinkin'a beer!" "You get it, I'm Tired!" "You get it, I just reeled one in!" "WELL SOMEBODY GET IT!!!! FISH ON!!!!! SOMONE!!!!" Big action on his boats!
