Ginger,

Take a look at True Love. They do day and half day out of Sapphire Beach/Red Hook area. Web site is: http://www.sailtruelove.com
Phone # is on the site. (Remember if you have Cingular it is a local call from US to USVI)

A beautiful boat - Built in 1926 by a famous naval architect it was used in the 1956 classic High Society with Grace Kelly and Bing Crosby.

They just got out of overhaul so she is looking good. I think it stays in US waters - no passport required

Also, check out "Island Girl", sails out of the Ritz. Coy does day sail to STJ from STT. My wife and I had a great time this past Nov. sailing with him.

I believe you won't need a passport until December 31st. Call Limnos and they will be able to tell you for sure. 340-775-3203. I've been on Limnos twice. Once with my mom who doesn't do a lot of outdoor activities and when we were at The Baths she stayed at the top of the trail at the restaurant because she isn't much of a hiker. She didn't mind at all though because there was a bar and a swimming pool and a fantastic view. The Baths are about a 10 minute walk down a trail and then climbing over, around and through the rocks which can be a bit slippery and requires a bit of flexibility, balance and a little strength to manuever your way through. It may be something to think about when taking seniors. If they're even remotely active it shouldn't be too much of an issue and definitely not to be missed.
Otherwise there are quite a few day sails out of American Yacht Harbor who go to St John. It's usually from around 9 in the morning to 3 or 3:30 in the afternoon. Most are monohulls so depending on the seas it could be a bit of an adventure. If you're looking for smoother sailing definitely check out a catamaran.

As I sit at work in Providence, Rhode Island, being literally unable to leave because the snowstorm has created white-out conditions- well I just had to escape to VINOW!!!- I agree with KT about Limnos. I wouldn't hesitate to take a senior on their boat. KT explained the Baths area very well. That view from the top is phenomenal, well worth the trip. There's also a little shopping area if the seniors like to do that while the rest of the group is exploring the rocks and beach. Very nice charter, very roomy, great staff, easy to move seniors around if their mobility is limited.

You are more than welcome, you won't regret them. I am VERY picky (even under Island time) and they more than met our needs (not so picky hubbie loved them too). FYI- in case you aren't familiar, and rather than going into this with unknowns, ALL these charters are hopeful (very subtly) for tips and will leave a tip can out at the end. They are young, hard working, cheerful kids who deserve a great tip.

You get a fairly big lunch as well. Fix it yourself sandwiches, potato salad and pasta salad. Full, open bar if you feel like indulging. They give you muffins/breakfast breads at the start of the trip but you may want to get a little something for breakfast anyway because lunch isn't until after The Baths.
And yes, TIP your crew well!!!!! They work hard and deserve it.

I forget exactly but it was about maybe an hour and a half. The crew tells you a little about the various islands you pass on the way and they motor at a fairly fast clip but you still see alot of the other islands. We spent maybe an hour plus at the Baths, then about a half hour to Norman Island (after we ate the good lunch), then maybe an hour at Norman Island, then back to Cruz Bay. Roughly about 8:30AM to about 3PM, maybe closer to 4.
