This is the first time i ever traveled outside of the U.S.A. I'm am flying nonstop from Philadelphia to St. Thomas and vice-versa.Which airports do I have to go through customs. Also I am taking the ferry to Tortola and returning to St. Thomas the following day. How does customs work with the ferry. If someone could please help this will make my trip times easier to plan. THANKS

There is no customs when flying from Philadelphia to St. Thomas, since it's a US territory. However, there is still customs (I guess because St. Thomas is geographically located outside of the US and there are open borders here) when you fly from St. Thomas to Philadelphia. You would clear US customs prior to leaving St. Thomas.

As for going to Tortola, you would clear BVI customs upon reaching Tortola. You would clear US customs upon your return to St. Thomas.
