Can anyone suggest where to have Bahamian currency exchanged on St. Thomas?

Scotia and First Bank both said they can't do it.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response, Pia.

They wouldn't even take Bahamian $$ at a currency exchange business at Philadelphia Airport. Hummmm?

Had the same problem. Found a friend who was going and he exchanged at the current rate at that time.

Good suggestion, seaweed. I think that's about the only way to get this done. Thanks!

I just asked my property manager. He says you'll have to take a day trip to Tortola to exchange your currency.

I don't know if they are in stt, but the banco poular in STX exchanges foreign currency that the other banks don't. I've only tried with Swiss francs and euros, but as the lady was flipping through the picture book of currency there seemed to be quite a large variety they would accept. Worth a try!

Hi

We're staying at St. John and is fresh out of dollars. But we have worth $2200 in danish currency. We're also told to go to eather Tortola ot St. Thomas. But! We withdraw all our money from the bank whem we left Denmark - as we believed that the islands witch lived on turism would let us exchange our money. But no. Now we trying to figure out how to get USD from our own currency - without leaving St. John. Because leaving also cost money, witch we don't have.

For now our wedding crashed due to late bagage witch held the wedding dress - and now we seems to be stuck here. But... St. John dosn't seem to be the worst place be stuck 😀

Take care now - lime out
