Hi Island People,
I have been offered an apartment rental on Culebra for February, has anyone spent time there loving or hating it before I have to "lay my money down" replies greatly appreciated.

Hello Sparky,

Are you going there on vacation or moving?? (Just wondering, haven't been.)

Good Morning Sparky,

I am by no means the expert on this, but I did spend a week on Culebra last year during the New Year. It is a beautiful island that has wonderful stretches of beach that are pretty much your own...they is a law that prohibits building on the coast. It has a few cool bars, but by no means is it a party island. If you are into hanging out with a bunch of locals and enjoy relaxing under a magical, star filled, Caribbean sky at night you will love the island. Great snorkeling and diving!

Enjoy,

Chad

Hi Chad,
Thanks for the info. I would be staying at a place 'Campo Resaca' , do you know this place? If so could you let me know. I appreciate it.

Sparky,

Sorry my man, I can't help you out with that...we stayed at a house we rented through Culebra Island Realty. The house didn't have all of the "creature comforts", but I think that added to the experience. It was located on the harbor and was about a mile from the town, and I use town liberally (very small). It is a great island, and I wish I could be there right now! We just picked up nine inches of snow here, which has successfully shut down all of the schools and caused a 35 car pile-up on the express way. This is my last winter for a long time, so "bring it on mother nature!" We are planning on purchasing a 24 foot run-about boat when we get to St. Thomas, and are planning on visiting Culebra often! I think it is about 13 miles away from St. Thomas.
