I posted earlier requesting info about accommodations for 2 nights on 12/25 and 12/26.

I was able to secure a place at Crystal Cove @ Sapphire.

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions.

I am at Crystal Cove right now waiting for the house I've rented to be vacated. The apartments here are pretty nice. We are in a 1 bedroom that also has murphy beds in the living room and 2 baths. It is one of the few small affordable condos with a truly workable kitchen. You should enjoy your stay.

Of course I am looking forward to moving into our permanant home in upper Content on Crown Mt Rd with it's nice view and easier proximity to downtown where I have my office.

By the way, thanks to Islander and everyone else for making this board so informative. I have been a lurker for several months while planning our move here and have gained a lot of insight and confidence from this board. I hope to contribute a bit more once finally I'm settled in.

I was looking at Crystal Cove for 3 nights in January. Is it close to a beach and is the beach a nice one? How far is it from the nearest town? Can you suggest any other place that sits on the beach thats nice (doesn't have to be 4 star)? What are the prices for food? Thanks for the answers. Mary

While not right "on" the beach, it is pretty close. Check out http://www.antillesresorts.com/2crystalcove.htm for a bird's eye view of the place.

It's hard to find a beach that isn't nice in the V.I. I can't see anyone being disappointed in Sapphire unless total seclusion was their objective.

The nearest town? Well, there's really only ONE town, Charlotte Amalie. However Crystal Cove is but a 5 minute drive from Red Hook where you'll find a small grocery store, restaurants, and of course, Duffy's Love Shack.

Prices for food? You mean eating out or buying groceries?

Hello Mary,

Sapphire beach is very nice... other beach front hotels are larger then Crystal Cove.. Sapphire itself has a resort on the beach, others are Emerald Beach Hotel, Morningstar Beach Resort, Bolongo Bay Resort, Secret Harbor Beach Resort, Ritz Carlton Resort...
