What is the best and cheapest place to buy on St John??? Will be there 9/10/2006-9/21/2006. How much per bottle??? thanks
I found Cruzan Rum for $2.75 a bottle in a little liquore shop up a side street from Main Street in Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas. Sorry, don't remember the name of the street or the shop, but it's a couple of blocks up the hill from the main shopping area. Not a tourist area at all, mostly locals seemed to shop there.
I paid $7.99 for the flavored Cruzans Rums, like Coconut and for the regular one, it was $3.99 at the Marina Market.
Or you can purchase Cruzan at Food Center on the way to Red Hook, reasonable prices.
Rum is so cheap in the VI that it's almost free. When it's that cheap, no need to spend time looking for the absolute lowest price. Pick it up wherever it's most convenient.
Although it seems high from everything else I've read on the forums, even $7.99 is a good price. Last night in Laguna Niguel, California I paid $12.99 for Cruzan Coconut and $14.99 for Estate Light!
Cruzan Rum---Trade Winds, Caribbean sea, palm trees, blue sky, big puffy clouds, steel pan music--in a bottle. YUM!!! Get it wherever, whenever you can.
On my last trip to the Islands, I picked up a bottle of Foxy's Firewater. I promised myself that I wouldn't open it until I could make it back to buy another bottle. Well, I'm keeping my promise. I just opened her up, and I'm drinking a glass on the rocks while I cruise the forum to gear up for next week's trip. Life is good! 🙂
On our last trip to STJ we bought some Cruzan Rum (BANANA). I am here to tell you that it makes the absolute best daquiri's ever. Add a little fresh banana into the blender with it and sit back and enjoy......PARADISE!!!!
Who has the best Cruzan Rum drink recipe???
The Killer Toad is most delicious but you'll have to figure out the quantities yourself! Cruzan dark rum with pineapple juice, orange juice and cream of coconut, shaken well with ice, served in a highball and topped with a float of Cruzan Blackstrap. Cheers!
Michael, Go to www.cruzanrum.com enter the site and they have their own great recipes. YUM!!
I'm running out of Cruzan Mango (to go with Cranberry Juice - excellent!) and that's the one flavor they don't sell here in Minnesota! I'm so bummed!
