Just reserved Cruz Views Unit #1 for February!!! I realize it's pretty far out, but does anybody have an opinion about construction in the area and how it may (or hopefully won't) affect our stay? First time on St. John - usually stay at Marriott on St. Thomas. Won't be at the villa much during the day, but don't want to wake up 6:30 am to a jackhammer alarm!

Also considered Coral and Blue. I know it (and manager Don) have gotten solid reviews here. Am I making a mistake in going to Cruz Views (and saving the 16% rental difference)?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

We just returned on Sunday. Our friends stayed in Cruz Views #6 for a week. We had all heard varying reports about noise from construction of the Sirenusa complex on the hillside opposite Cruz Views. Although there was construction every day between about 7:00A and 3:00P, the noise was not a problem. In order to really notice it (and they were looking for it after all they had heard), they had be out on the deck. they could hear it if they left the sliders open, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the reports indicated. They didn't notice it at all in the morning because the AC drowned out anything they may have heard. I suppose the noise could vary depending on the work being done on a given day; they heard none of the jackhammer noise that had been reported earlier - maybe they're done with that part of the work. IMHO (and theirs), the view of the giant scar on the opposite hillside was worse than the noise coming from it.
