We are traveling by cruise ship to St. Thomas and plan to spend our time on St. John. I have already established that a taxi from the pier to Red Hook then the ferry over is the best bet. But once we arrive in St. John what is the best way to Cinnamon Beach and how long of a ride is it? I'm just trying to figure out exactly how much time we will have/need as the ship departs at 5pm.

There will be plenty of taxis on hand when you get off the ferry, the taxi ride takes about 10 minutes and the fare is $7 per person. You should plan on taking the 2PM ferry back to St Thomas to err on the side of caution as you probably have to be on board at 4PM for a 5PM sailing.
