For those of you with more experience than I at this, I went to a site that lists the cruise ships scheduled to be in port (in this case St. Thomas) on particular days.
I have nothing against cruise ship passengers per se (up until this planned trip that is the only time I've been in the Virgin Islands) but I would like to be able to plan to have days when the islands aren't swamped with them.
I'm looking at October of 2007 and there do seem to be some days where there are few cruise ships, or even none, scheduled to call.
Is this something that is likely to be accurate this gar ahead of time, or would you expect as the time draws nearer for a lot more ships to be added to the schedule?
Thanks!
The schedule may change some between now and then, but October is typically a slower month for cruise ships. One reason is that it is still considered Hurricane season and fewer ships cruise the Eastern Caribbean during this time frame and also ships are beginning their repositioning cruises between Alaska, Europe or New England before they return to cruise for the winter months. You should be able to have some uncrowded days to enjoy the island.
What is this site with the cruise schedule. I am going to STT this Saturday and that info would be very helpful in planning our days. Thanks in advance!
thank you very much!
