Hello All,

Folks in the marina industry, Pam, anyone else? Are you familiar with the following excursion: I copied the description as provided by Princess Cruise Lines but it seems they left out a sentence or there is a typo in the first sentence. I am trying to figure out which marina and beach are being used as I can't imagine them being very far from each other considering the boat only fits 2 people?? Anyone know? Thanks.

Mini Boat Adventure And Beach Getaway

EXPERIENCE THE EMERALD WATERS OF THE CARIBBEAN SEA WITH AN Board a safari bus for the brief transfer to a local marina. Meet your guide and receive your safety gear and an orientation on your mini-boat. Then set out across the open water and cruise to a beautiful beach where you have approximately an hour and a half to sunbathe, swim or snorkel. Complimentary soft drinks and water are served at the beach. Then pilot your boat back to the marina for the return to ship. Snorkel equipment including safety vest, professional instruction and supervision included.

It sounds like the little mini boats used at Walt Disney World on the lakes around the park. They are a lot of fun. If I'm correct on that, the commercials aired in the states in regard to Princess also show them being used by the passengers. Kind of interesting, that no one has mentioned them before. It would be a great family option if so. I noticed at Disney that young teenagers were taking the mini boats out. Hope someone can put the pieces togeather.

Thank you all so much for looking into this for us. I appreciate all of your hard work. My husband really would like to go on this but we thought we might need to look into it a little further. Debs from Oklahoma

Got it - this is a tour set up through Saga Haven Marina called Old Town Tours. You can call the tour company at 340-998-0522 or email them at [email protected] for more information. They are new to the area but seem very pleasant on the phone.
Have fun.
Pamela.

Thanks Pamela!! Will definately have to check it out.

Eve, will have to look into it some more to see if its the little boats you mentioned. I called and they said while the boats can fit 6 people they try to keep to the limit of 2 per boat... I didn't ask what size the boats were.

Debs - there you go, you can give them a call and ask for details. They are new so you likely won't find many reviews if any for them. I called and asked if you can book directly with them and they said yes. Its $75 a person, which is cheaper than the ship (if the ship price of $168 was for two people and not per person). However considering you will have to take a taxi from the ship to them at around $9 a person one way and the ship's excursion includes the taxi ride (not sure if its round trip) then its either the exact same price or cheaper if its round trip to go with the ship excursion.

Hope that helps and if you do go out with them please give us a review when you get back!! Have a great cruise!!

Islander: I think that what they are calling "mini boat" is a dinghy. I see them leaving the lagoon all in a line like little ducks! I would bet they go to Christmas Cove, as I can't imagine that they would go too far over open water!

Islander
They are 12 ft center console apex inflatables they leave out of Saga haven marina. They hold 2 people. Must be at least 12 years old to take the trip, and 18 to drive. You are escorted out to Christmas Cove on Great Staint James (30 - 45 min ride) Stop for a 1hour snorkel stop. Then head back to the marina. Rum punch is served when you get back. It is a new company that just started last November. People seem to love it.

They are definately not the ones I saw at Disney and on the commercials. The ones I saw were little 8 or 9 foot speed boats with outboards on them. They were a great deal of fun...
