Hi All,

Just wondering if I should make reservations ahead of time for Snuba Diving and a daytrip to The Baths. We're coming 7/8 thru 7/15. We really don't want to be locked in to any kind of schedule, but I keep reading about all the cruise ships that come in. This will be our 1st time to STJ, so I have no frame of reference.

Any recommendations for the daytrip to The Baths? I checked out Cruz Bay Watersports - sounds like a really good time. Our son will be with us - he's almost 10.

Thanks!
Geri

Hello Geri,

July isn't a peak month for cruise ships calling on St. Thomas/St.John. We just received & added June's schedule to the site today. Going by it, it would seem you'll have 3 ships on Tuesday & Wednesday and 0-1 ships on the other days.

Enjoy! 🙂

Looks as if in mid-June there are cruise ships with a total of 4000-6000 passengers from Mon thru Wed.

I assume it is wise to avoid the beaches around Cruz Bay from late morning to late afternoon on those days (unless one likes crowds...) - correct?

Any other watch outs?

Thanks

For the Baths, you might check the cruise ship arrivals for the BVI- don't know where you find those, though. The Baths are the big attraction in the BVI and they ferry the cruise ship passengers over from Tortola.

My recommendation for a day trip to The Baths would be with Stormy Petral/Pirates Penny. We had a kid about 10 on our trip and he had a blast. There was a stop at Cooper Island for lunch and a snorkel stop at The Indians. Cost was $125 per person (kids may be less) $20 customs and lunch expense. Here is the link:
