*Will be in St. Thomas on a cruise ship would like to go to St. Johns but not on a tour. How would we go about getting there.Did see that there is a passanger ferry. Is it far from the port? Also when we get to St. Johns would like to go to trunk beach. How far is that from the ferry? Hoping you can help.

Thanks

You can take a ferry from Charlotte Amalie, which should be very close to port. When on St. John, It took us about 30 minutes to get to Trunk Bay by taxi, however, I think we went East first which is a longer route and there were several stops on the way.

If you go directly from the Cruz Bay ferry dock to Trunk Bay, it should only take about 10 minutes.

When we were on our cruise 2 years ago, I think we took a cab from the cruise pier to the red hook ferry to st. john, and then took another cab to trunk bay. very nice if you're not interested in shopping, shopping or shopping 🙂

Thanks! That is actually great information for me too, as we are planning to go in April and try to spend some time on St. John again.
