Here is my trip plan and you can tell me if I'm on as far as costs go. Thanks.

Taxi from cruise ship doc to Red Hook: $4 per person?

Ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay: $6 dollars per person round trip

Tour of St. John: There will be 4 people so a 2 person tour for 2 hours is $45. If we have two additional passengers it is $16 dollars per person. All together it is $77 for a 4 person tour for two hours, is this correct?

Tour of St. Thomas: 2 hour tour of St. Thomas for two people is $30. Each additional passenger is $12 each. So for 4 people it would be $54.

Does this sound right? Let me know if I should make any changes.

Eric,

Only thing I see that is off is the Taxi from the ship to Red hook is $8 a person one way. Everything else looks right.

Eric,
We are planning a similar day on St John. Do you have any web site info on the tour of St. John that you mentioned in your Message.
Thanks
Al

Al - usually there are taxi/tour drivers right at the ferry dock on St. John waiting to either give you an island tour or so take you to the beach. So I think that is what Eric means.

Islander:

Would you recommend taxi to Red Hook ferry or ferry from Charlotte Armalie? Do we need a taxi from the cruise ship to the Charlotte Armalie ferry?

Arlene,

Go to this page:

https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/cruiseship/cruiseguide_page1.php

cut and paste the link - there is a section on comparing the two ferries, cost wise, lenght of time, what to consider... it should help you decide what is best for you.

You can walk from the ship to town if you like but its a pretty good long walk. The taxi is $3 a person I would do that to get to the Charlotte Amalie ferry for sure... and perhaps on the return trip if you have lots of time and you want to walk through town and then back to the ship you could do that.
