HI - Wondering how much you are charged when you visit different beaches at Resorts and around the Island? How about beach chairs and umbrellas?

Try this link for information on rentals at one location. If you are planning on going every day for a week you might be better off just purchasing a set.

And here are the prices at http://www.redhookdivecenter.com/rentals.html

I agree that buying a set may be more cost efficient.

If you are staying at a hotel, chair rental is usually included in your room rate. Some hotels will rent "outsiders" chairs, but others don't. You may also rent at Magens Bay and possibly Lindquist/Smith Bay Beach.

Hey, EastEnder, do you have an interest in Red Hook Dive Center? LMAO Seriously, I'm glad that they are doing business since Chris Sawyer closed shop on St Thomas. I hope they do well.

Some properties (Point Pleasant Resort for one) loan snorkeling equipment (for free) to guests.

If you intend on doing a lot of snorkeling (and your property doesn't loan the equipment) it's probably better to buy an inexpensive set and leave it there (in the condo/room). Beach chairs the same.....last March K-Mart was selling the chair-in-a-bag for $7. Rentals are usually $5. (or up) per day....so by the second day you're ahead.

Several guests have left their beach chairs in our condo.......

You can buy your own at Dick's sporting goods or other large chains. They will be better then what you rent or they have on loan at most villas. The new ones you buy usually are leak proof and that is a big plus.
