Just a word of advise of those thinking about staying or going to the Cormorant to eat. Take my advise DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!
we ate there four times last year lved it new owners purchased place and the place has gone to Sh*t. we ate there monday night 02/07/05 had a so so meal trivial pursuit night only served bar food and poor bar food witih HIGH prices. so we made reservations for the next night. had 8 pm reservations since most places on STX closes at 9pm for some unknow reason, got sat at 815 no big deal used to that in the states. the server took our order we ordered an appitizer of the chicken strip and then the prime rib for dinner for my partner adn the full rack of ribs for me at 9 pm got our appitizer order which was ok. at 9:20 the server came over to use to inform us that they were out of the items we ordered over an hour after ordering. we cancled our order and paid for our appitizers(10.00 for 4 chicken strips) I went to talk to the owner/manager who said its not our problem they ran out of food and if you dont like dont eat here. so we cancled our reservations we had made for friday night. when I asked why it took an hour to let us know they were out of our entrees she said the kitchen was backed up and probally just let your server know then.
I work as a server in a restaurant in the states we communicate with the kitchen at all times POOr communications with front and bach of the house and the owner could of cared less that we had a problem with our order and offered no appology just rudness
I'm surprised you had so much trouble. I play trivia at the Cormorant on Monday nights and have always been very satisfied with the food. It is bar food, but I think it's reasonably priced and pretty good. I love the soups.
Anyway, sorry you had a bad experience.
