Hi!
I'm looking for some specific suggestions, please. My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids aged 6 and 9) chartered a sailboat for a week and then are looking for a condo to rent on St. Thomas for 3-4 days. We've been checking out condos at Cowpet Bay, Sapphire Beach, and Bolongo Bay areas, but all the listings sound about the same.
Since we'll be coming from living on a boat, we'll be mostly looking for a nice, clean, safe place with 2 bedrooms and a nice freshwater pool for the kids. I guess I'd slightly prefer a resort-setting for the simplicity of restaurant, bar, pool, etc., but open to other options.
Any recommendations out there?
Michael
Michael:
Try the Point Pleasant Resort (Condos)......waterfront location.......incredible views......nice small private beach...short walk to Coki Beach (best for the kids), 3 large pools, exercise room, 2 restaurants (Fungi's is good for the kids, Agave - Gourmet Seafood), free water sports equipment (snorkel gear & kayaks), nature trail, tennis courts, activities desk, etc. 340-775-7200. Close to Red Hook, Sapphire Beach & shopping.
Hope this helps....

I think that the elysian meets your needs. right on cowpet bay clean and a nice pool. I can refer you to a 2 bed 2 bath that I have rented before. The owners are great and the condo was redone late 2007.
Sounds great!
Let me know!
The Sapphire rentals via www.vrbo.com aren't all the same, so take a closer look! A 2BR unit at Sapphire Village was brought to my attention tonight. "Kiribe" can be seen at www.vrbo.com/134380 and it does look very nice.
Also check out Secret Harbour.
As much as I have absolutely nothing against Point Pleasant or the Cowpet locations, the Point Pleasant beach is cute but minimal while, depending on whether you're looking at Cowpet East or West, you're either enjoying a wonderful overview of the St Thomas Yacht Club and a walk to the Elysian beach for swimming or you're looking right at the Elysian Beach with minimal walking but it's not a great snorkeling area.
Cheers!
I agree they are not all the same, but rather meant to suggest it is very difficult to tell the differences via 6 or so small snapshots.
Anyone have a specific rental suggestion at Elysian ?
Michael: Of the places you mentioned...
Bolongo Bay area has three restaurants, pools, watersports including motorized. The Bolongo area has a resort and several condo complexes. I think there are some Watergate condos associated with Bolongo Bay Resort.
Cowpet area has four different condo complexes- Elysian, Cowpet East and Cowpet West. I believe that the pool is only for Elysian guests. There are two restaurants and a pool bar. Also watersports- mon-motorized. You can walk next door to the Ritz if you have a desire to spend a bunch of money. The Anchorage is the other complex on Cowpet Bay, but on the other side of the Yacht Club, has a pool but doesn't have its own restaurant.
Sapphire Beach doesn't currently have the restaurant facilities of the others, although there is one right next door at Sapphire Village. They have a pool, and watersports, etc.
Bolongo is a bit more remote to other activities. Cowpet and Sapphire are closer tp Red Hook for dining and drinking options. IMHO, best food of the three is at the Elysian, where Kevin and Laura run a very nice and family- friendly empire (Robert's, Ainsley's and the pool bar.)
How's that?
go to vrbo.com and the listing # is 146165. Hope you like it or it will work for you.Good luck
There are a few condos at Sapphire listed on this site under St. Thomas Accommodations that you could check out: https://www.vinow.com/stthomas/accommodations/.

One of the girls traveling with me to STJ is coming early and staying on STT. She sent me the info on Point Pleasant, and it looks wonderful.
Have a great trip!
