Does anyone know what is left? We have seen/heard on TV about 90% devastation. We have been there so many times, love the island and its people. Feel just terrible now. Any area of the island that is OK? How is Caneel Bay? Coral Bay area, Skinny Legs, Woody's. Where do people stay now?
I've been following some people on island. The island did get hit hard. The whole island lost power, telephone, internet and cell service leaving those on island completely cut off. For a few days, no one knew whether or not the condition of the island was known in the US. Help started arriving after 2 or 3 days and cleanup is going fairly well from what I know. The St. Johnians pulled togther as only they could to help each other. That is why I love STJ so much.
Caneel Bay took a very hard hit... many buildings destroyed. They announced that they will not be open at least until 2018.
Coral Bay was hit pretty hard. Skinny's took some damage, but they say they will rebuild.
Here are some pictures that were taken pretty much right after. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOT4eBmZF4lsa5IqLjhv1TnX5HuucNTL-DopGAsDDLmOEK7HZV0mxuyycXSvrZ1Iw?key=aHJOS0cxWEQyTGs5N1FIOUZhX1NURTdUWFIxRFZn
Thank you so much for giving some info., as bad as it is. We contributed to Tim Duncan's VI relief fund, will do something directly for St. John. I hope, pray, and believe St. John and it's people will come back.
