I've never been to the VI and am trying to plan a trip w several friends. All the out doorsy types, nothing fancy But there will be some couples. Could anyone recommend one over the other? Or even some other not so touristy options / suggestions?

Thanks!

I suggest you consider renting a villa. If there are several of you in the group and you split the costs it can work out to be very economical. Rent a villa and a couple of Jeeps and have a ball.

Confordia over Cinnamon Bay. But, I also prefer a villa. Also, we love the Coral Bay, East End, and Salt Pond area.

If I had to choose, I would pick Concordia for "amenities" but Cinnamon for location.

Depending on how many people will be going, you may just get a bigger bang for your buck with a villa. You will still need to rent cars. A MUST for Concordia. You can get away without renting vehicles at Cinnamon but I think that it limits how much of the island you get to see.

Nothing about STJ is touristy when compared to many other Caribbean islands.

If you tell us your budget, how many people, and when you are traveling, I am sure we can point you in the right direction.
