Yeehaa, we're booked for the week of Nov 6th and can't wait! We've stayed at the Maho Bay ecotent location 3 times and have checked out the Concordia site but have some mundane questions for those of you who have actually stayed there: 1) can I get a cup of coffee in that small registration/store they have 2) how are the pillows (the ones at Maho were horrible, bricks would have been more comfortable) 3) can we hike to the beach from there (even if its rocky) and 4) I know there are no elec outlets at the cabins but was there anyplace at Concordia to plug in a hair dryer for those "big nights out" in little Cruz Bay? Again, we know St John, we just need answers to these little questions. Thanks a bunch

Will you be staying in the eco-tents or the studios? The reason I ask is the studios have fully equipped kitchens/kitchenettes, and very nice bathrooms with electrical outlets. I've only stayed in the studios, so don't know about the eco-tents. The pillows in the studios were quite nice, as I recall...

Good review, Marty.

I just want to add that the studios are a nice alternative for someone who appreciates the peace & quiet (no TV or phone either) and beautiful scenery (nice sized deck overlooking the most gorgeous view you can imagine!) but isn't looking to rough it. Light and bright, they feature a full bathroom with tile shower, a living room, kitchen/kitchenette, and the aforementioned deck. All the comforts of home with a better view 🙂

The kitchens were a very nice perk - fully equipped - even had a blender. It was SO nice to be able to enjoy coffee/breakfast on the deck in the morning - that's what relaxation is all about!

1.) Don't know if they have it in the office, but they do stock small items that people may need...bug screen, canned goods, etc.

2.) I prefer a soft pillow, but I never eventhought about them until I read this, so they must be OK.

3.) No, not to my knowledge.

4.) I never looked for an outlet, so I don't know for sure, but my guess would be no. Check thir website?

Thanks, I may just end up calling them about the outlet. Pillow happiness may sound dumb but we both remember what we called the "pillows from hell" at the Maho Camps so maybe I'll leave out some clothes (who needs em?) and pack my trusty pillow. Only 6 months till back to PARADISE!!

Hi, to answer your questions. No coffee is not served in registration/store. There are no outlets with the tents, only the studios. There may be one in the bathroom by the pool, I would call and ask to be sure. I'm picky about a pillow but did fine at Maho & Concordia. Maybe because I was so happy to be there. Maybe you could get one of the travel bags that you compress air out of to pack flat and bring your own pillow. Just a thought.

Hi! Stayed at Concordia Ecotents, April23-26. The bedding was good cotton, pillows were nice and fluffy. Everything is clean. SParse but adequate kitchen. Swimming pool saved us when the breezes stopped at nite. No place to plug anything electrical in the tents, but there is bathroom by the pool that you can plug in your blowdryer. You only need your groceries and your personal belongings. There is biodegradeable dish and shower soap. You can use your own shampoo. THe staff was more than friendly and accomadating. The place was very similar to a beach bungalow here on Long Island, NY. Make sure to rent a vehicle.

How about the beach- rocky? How long is the hike down to it? We do plan to rent a car from Conrads as we could see how far it was from every other place we love on the island. No coffee at the tiny store? thanks for the info!
