me and my girlfriend are coming to STT for a week in june, we're staying at the Ritz Carlton. What's everyone's thoughts on that hotel?
Also, what kind of documentation (passports) and the like do we need, if any, if we're US citizens. I've heard differing things on this, just need to get a definitive answer.
And what's the weather like during that time?
Passports are not needed if you are US citizens but it certainly makes it easier at any airport if you do. Bring a valid driver's license and birth certificate if you want to go to BVI. We've never stayed at the Ritz so I'll reserve any comment due to my lack of knowledge but I'd sleep on the beach and be happy as long as I was in St. Thomas. The weather is wonderful all the time in the islands but then again I live in New Hampshire.
Please bring a photo id (driver's license or state id) an birth certificate with a raised seal for both the airport and any day trips to the BVI. The Ritz here is not up to the Ritz in New York but it is magnificent. The type of place that makes you want to whisper when you enter the lobby.
Weather in June is a little on the warm side (mid 80's - low 90's), can be sticky if the humidity is up and has showers in the late evening, early morning hours. Ok, so it's paradise!
Enjoy!
Hello Alex,
You don't need a proof of citzenship to enter the VI from a US airport. You do need proof of identity for the airline check in - license is fine for that. All persons leaving the USVI, whether American citizens or not, must be prepared to show proof of citizenship upon leaving the USVI to return to the mainland and the following is whats accepted.
1. A passport issued under competent authority, 2. An Alien Registration Card (this applies to United States of America permanent residents only) 3. A certified copy of a birth certificate with government issued photo identification (this applies to Canadian and United States citizens only) 4. A Certificate of Naturalization, issued by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Ritz is a beautiful property!!
