So excited!! We were able to book FF miles for November 2 - November 10! The flight down is direct, but the flight back really stinks, but I took it anyway. We don't get back into Philly till 10:30 at night, but it's worth it!

Guess we better start planning.

Anyone going to be down at the same time?

Hi Connie,

Congratulations, your coming back! Isn't it fun to know for sure that you are returning to the islands. Thats when I start daydreaming, pulling out my picture books and surfing Google Earth and the local webcams.

It would be so nice to meet you. I'll let you know if we will be on island the same time you are. We usually don't make our flight arrangements until a few days to a week before. I will be traveling down next week to recieve my furniture shipment. Anyone else going to be in town?

Molly

Connie: I'm happy for you that it worked out for you on, what is it now, your fourth trip in three or four years? Did hubbie prevail on STJ or are you staying on STT?

Molly: look forward to seeing you next week. The "girls" are growing up but are still toadal terrorists. Not sure that they would really thank you for your contribution to their well-being but I thank you again anyway! Come t'ick or t'in they have great lives.

By the way, if you have an overload of furniture or any older stuff that you want to be rid of, we're having a Community Yard Sale on Sunday September 21st (see posting in the Classified section on VINow.) Without even any advertising so far we already have 8 people signed in for free space in the lot. Anything left unsold at the end of the day CAN be left as a donation to the Humane Society of St Thomas or, where children's stuff is concerned, to the Nana Baby home who take care of children who for whatever reason are taken from their parents.

Cheers!

Molly, keep in touch and if we're there at the same time, we'll get together.

STT...this will be our 5th in 2 years. We'll probably be staying at Sapphire again since it's so convenient, but I'm still checking into staying a few days over in STJ. Seems I'll have plenty of time because alot of people have availability, so I can relax a bit.

I was just really glad to use those FF miles. With the way that the airlines are nowadays, I was really nervous that they'd be dropping them or raising the amount of miles you need to use them.

I'm there from Sept 9th to Oct 7th for the remodel. Hopefully some down time as well; I think I'll insist on it.

Connie:

5 times in 2 years??????

Perhaps it would be cheaper to reside on STT and commute back to Philly (lol).

Glad that old money bags made the (right) decision.

Have a good time!

Connie - GOOD FOR YOU!!!!

Good feeling to use those miles, isn't it? We cleaned out our accounts for our next STX trip, too. Redeemed them before AA increased the amount needed for tickets. Glad to have the air off our minds. Hubs and I still haven't settled on our villa for the first part of the trip.

Sapphire Beach is such a great place to stay - that's Hubs' favorite beach. have a wonderful time!

Hi all,

STT Resident,

Looks like I will be back to STT on Friday, Monday at the latest. Although we live in a community and continue to donate to the local Humane Society, my daughter has earmarked all of her personal can collecting donations for STT. She has collected over $180 in cans over the last few months and I am delighted to bring her money to the Islands. I'll see you soon!

Connie,

I am in Dubuque Iowa believe it or not. We bought a place in STT a couple of years ago, renovated it over the summer and finaly my furniture is expected to arrive next week. Maybe you should buy a place too, all of my travel to the islands is considered a "business expense".

Cheers!

Molly, believe me, I'd love to, but 2 properties are enough for me and husband would never sell the shore property. You know, familoy obligations and things like that. We use to think that we'd spend 6 mos during the winter in warm climate and at that time, we were thinking of florida. After going to the islands, I think we think alot differently now. You never know, when family issues calm down maybe we could spend a couple months in the islands :o)

I hear you Connie,

We have a lot of the same family obligations. We sold an investment property and were a little worried about putting our money in the stock market, thank goodness we put our well earned dollars into an investment in paradise. The downside is that we mainly do longterm rentals at our place until the neighboring hotel opens up, so usuallly I'm homeless when I come down, or I crash on a friends couch. So many great open minded free spirited people live in the islands, it will be a delight when we can finally make our move. Our youngest of 7 (yes 7 children, no I'm not Mormon and I do believe in birth control, we just had a little too much fun along the way) is only 10 and with the somewhat uncertianty of the school system, we thought it best to wait.

Connie,

I'll be on STJ with a group of girlfriends 11/8-11/15. Surely your few days on STJ will include The Beach Bar Sunday gathering? We're stopping on our way back from Ivan's...

It'd be cool to finally put some names to faces...

Lulu, alot of people are getting together on the 4th at Honeymoon Beach, I think we're going to try to make that. So, the beach bar gathering will be on Sunday, the 9th? Maybe we'll try to make that too!!

I won't be there until the 8th, so I'm going to miss the big to-do on the 4th, but we are looking forward to Sunday Jazz at the Beach Bar. I'm not sure what time it starts, but we're heading over there after we get off the ferry from Jost.
