DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY HAVE FOOD AND DRINKS AT COKI BEACH? IS IT SAFE THERE?

Yes, there are food and drink options at Coki. As far as safe, I haven't heard of anything negative happening except some verbal insults. People have been known to smoke funny cigarettes there, and it has more of a "local" feel than some of the other beaches.

Try the ole wife at Uncle Buddy's! YUMMY!

As far as safety goes, during the day you won't have any problems, but, after sunset, you really have no need to be there and it is not recommended that you go there. The only people there at that time are up to no good...

One must-see on Coki is The Mailman. It is a shack-type atmosphere with mostly finger food and drinks. He is right next to the road near some snorkeling outfitters and the public restroom. My brother-in-law returns there time after time, I'll do the same in years to come. It is family run, and they will point out that Dad pretends to be the boss! Very quaint and friendly, and the Mailman is a real stitch. Try the Carib Lager, it is very smooth.

Safety is good during the day, haven't been there at night but probably wouldn't go there at night. We had no problem with anything disappearing while snorkeling-and speaking of, the snorkeling is fantastic right there.

Yeah~ LOTS of good food and drinks at Coki!! More than any other beach on STT or STJ. There are multiple vendors and there is also waiter service from your beach chair.

It seems safe to me. I am told that everyone stays away after dark whne it turns into a drug drop for boats. Someone told me that they just say a show on Discovery Channel about drugs in the VI and they thought Coki was featured as a night drop. During the day, it has some of the clearest water you'll find.

We are going to St. Thomas in Feb. When did you last see the Mailman at Cokie? I heard he was not there anymore. Hope I am wrong. We were there after dark couple of times no problems except the locals do not like their picture taken. Apparently They think it steals from their soul, or it could have been their up to no good. Thanks Robbon

We were there just a couple weeks ago. Nice to share our food with the local dog & cat!! Snorkeling is great. We made the mistake of tipping too well, & our beach server didn't come back!! Guess that was enough for him for the day!??!
When we were there a couple yrs. ago, it was un-forgetable & we couldn't wait to get back. Then when we went back....well....we probably are not that excited to get back. It just didn't live up to our first visit.

and yea....that smell was definetly a ~local cig ~ smell! Even during the day!

Loved Coki beach! Lots of fun people watching. Nice waiters and waitresses. Beautiful view. We felt completely safe. Yep, we did smell the funny cigs on that Sunday afternoon. 😉 I think it's one of the neatest places on the island! Very relaxing sitting in the sand, looking at to the water and hearing reggae music. 🙂 Loved it!
