*Well, I'm new to all of this USVI stuff. All I know is that I would like to plan a vacation to the islands, but have no idea where are the good places and the not so good places. I am interested in Cinnamon Bay area-does anyone have any info? All I know so far is that there is a camping area there.
And if Cinnamon Bay isn't the place then is there somewhere right around that are that is good.
Here's what I'm looking for....nightlife and a decent place to stay. Somewhere that has bars right on the beach, by the hotel, maybe?? I don't know.
I welcome any info you have to offer.
Thanks so much!!
Cinnamon Bay is in the middle of the VI National Park. There are no bars on the beach on St. John that I know of and night life is not that great. There is a bar in Cruz Bay called Woody's (I think) that seemed to be packed every night but other than that nightlife didn't seem that 'happening' like what you are expecting. Do not go to St. John for the nightlife or hotels, go for the beauty. St. Thomas might be more of your cup of tea as there are alot more hotels and resorts available. The main hotels on St. John are the Westin and Maho Bay resorts - but Maho bay is more eco-friendly then anything. Villa rentals are more than abundant on St. John then hotels.
Hope this helps!
I have a book with some pictures of Cinnamon Bay and it looks beautiful. Can anyone describe it in some detail?
It's hard to describe OhioGuy. To me at least, it's the most beautiful stretch of beach I've ever seen. I was there last Sept when the campground was actually closed for a month I think. My wife and I walked out of the trees and onto the beach where there were only two other couples, and they left shortly after we arrived. We ended up with the entire beach all to ourselves by about 2:00 in the afternoon. I was imagining being on the first Survivor show or being a castaway. 🙂 I've never seen whiter sand beaches (other than some of the others on STJ) and there are plenty of trees off the beach for a little shade.
