I know that this has nothing to do with The Virgin Islands but I just thought maybe SOMEONE out there could help. My son (24) has just accepted a new job in Chicago. We have been looking at apartments in the Lincoln Park area on line and of course reading reviews of them. Can anyone give us some suggestions of DECENT places to rent. Looks like he will share with another guy for the time being. So 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.
Hey thanks,
Mricco

I would look in the South Loop area. It's close to everything and more reasonable. Lincoln Park / Wrigleyville areas are great for twenty-somethings but quite pricey too. Good luck.

I did live in the South Loop until last year, now live in the suburbs.

When I was a student in Chicago, I had a friend that rented at Cobbler Square. They have beautiful loft apartments that are close to Oak Street Beach and Rush street and not too far from the downtown area. I'd also have to 2nd the Lincoln Park area: Safe, close to everything but definitely pricey.

Both of the buildings I lived in while in Chicago have gone condo...this has been trend there for quite some time, so rentals are getting more and more expensive.

Wicker Park can also be a great area to consider. It has great transporation access if he doesn't have a car.

Has he checked Craigslist?

Actually we think that we have found a place in Humboldt Park on Craigslist. 1 bedroom for $700.00, it's new refurb, looks nice in the pictures so I think that is what we are going to do.
Thanks to all,
Mricco

Where exactly is the apt. located in Humboldt Park? I have lived there for 9 yrs. & you have to be careful. This area is just beginning its genetrification process & the streets changed very radically. I can help tell you if that is an ok area. I could drive past the apt. to check it out. You can email me directly if you have any ??.
