We use Verizon as our cell service on the mainland, but I'm not so sure this will work on St. Thomas. Can anyone adivse me what cellular company works best on St. Thomas? Fortunately, we're traveling for a rare time without our children, but we do need to be able to check in without them every so often. Thanks.
I was just there in December. My daughter's Verizon phone worked just fine.
But I would bring a calling card just in case.
We have verizon as did our two adult sons! My older son's worked, ours did NOT. It is an iffy situation. Buy the calling card!
Have used Cingular on STT STJ & STC. Works great & no extra charge. If you use it on certain parts of STJ you can pick up a BVI signal & they will charge you quite a bit. Check your bill & call and they will take the charges off.
My boyfriend's Verizon phone worked fine, but it was roaming so there will be extra charges. My Sprint phone worked well with no roaming. I also noticed that many islanders use Sprint as well.
