Does anyone know if and where there is a catholic church for Easter Mass?
Which island?
This site should help for St. John. We will be there too for Easter.
There's Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Phone 340-774-0201.
In Frenchtown, there's St Anne's Chapel. Phone 340-714-1101.
On St John, there's Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 340-776-6339.
St Croix, St Ann Church, 340-778-0484.
There are others, but hopefully you'll find one here that suits you.
On St. thomas -- Holy Family which is in Tutu. Before you get to the Point Plesant & Sugar Bay.
Not far from the the mall (big Kmart) etc..
Very cute church
Ht is not a big deal at the Catholic church that I attend in CT at for gentlemen to wear dressy shorts and a nice button shirt for mass. Would this be the case here as well?
Dressy shorts? This is the Caribbean, you need to dress up (i.e. long pants) for church!!! The nice button shirt is sufficient.
Thanks 🙂
Hello everyone. I didn't want to create a new thread since this topic is based on the Catholic Church.
we're both catholic, and the Fiance and I really want to have a destination wedding in the US Virgin Islands. However, we also want a beach ceremony. However, upon research, we learned that we couldn't have a beach wedding and be recognized by the Roman Catholic Church. so..I was looking for really quaint catholic church/chapel that is by the sea. So far, we're looking at the islands of St. Thomas and St. John.
Thank you So much!
🙂
regards,
Angel
Hello Angel,
There aren't any. On St. Thomas the Cathedral is downtown, OLPH Church is on the northside on a hillside, Holy Family is inland and while you can see the water/harbor from St. Anns in Frenchtown it also isn't by the sea.
Perhaps a church wedding and a beach front reception?
