Is it possible to catch a flight that leaves Charlotte-Amalie at 8:30 a.m. if we take the 6:00 a.m. ferry from St. John the same morning? Or is that cutting it too close?
Thank you.

Jasper, I had the same issue. I was looking at a flight out of CA at 8:40 but we will be on St. John. We will need to check out of the villa and return rental car. After careful consideration, I realized that it would be just too much stress to top off a wonderful week of laidback bliss. We decided to add a night and stay over in St. Thomas. Actually, we have a night at the beginning and at the end. Even if the ferry was on time and everything went smoothly (taxi, checkin, etc), that's a lot of worry at the end of your journey. The opinions I received in trying to do it were not favorable. Good Luck!

Thank you very much. We will take your advice. My husband would never cut anything that close. I, on the other hand, would take the chance. Not this time, however.
Thanks again.

Have you gone on your trip yet? If so where did you stay in ST Thomas for one night and how much (if you don't mind). We have a flight leaving STT at 10:40 and even then it seems too early..we have two small children.

We will probably stay the first night at Emerald Beach $129. The last night, Sapphire Beach ?. We also have 2 kids, 18 (graduation trip) and 8.

Yes, you'll be cutting it way too close. For STT, you really do need to be there 2 hours prior. I missed a flight home by getting there 1 hr 30 min early - - citing not enought time for customs.

Best Western Emerald Beach is very reasonable (usually under $150), clean, nothing fancy, yet right on an awesome beach. And literally 2 min from the airport. Don't worry, flights only during the day. It won't keep you up at night!
