Hello Matt,

The Westin Resort has a group catamaran sail called Island Spirit. Cruz Bay Watersports operates it. http://www.divestjohn.com/sailing.html Other catamaran sails come to mind but they are 6 packs, rather then a group.

Have a great time.

We just returned from ten days on STJ and I have the PERFECT sail for you...especially if you and your kids are into learning about the undersea life, free diving, etc.... book with the Captain Phil Chalker on the Wayward Sailor (web site is www.waywardsailor.net).
We went on the full day and had two snorkel stops and a fantastic Caribbean lunch, snacks, drinks, etc., but the most awesome part is Capt. Phil - he has lived on his boat for 37 years and he knows EVERYTHING... he is so enthusiatic about what he does. He taught my daughter (12 YO) how to free dive and it opened up a whole new experience to her with snorkeling. He only takes six people on his sails so it is very personal - you will feel like you are sailing with a long time friend. Tell him the Fish Family sent you and give him our very best! Have a great trip...

Dear Fish famiy,
We took your advice and booked a snorkeling trip with Captain Phil and absolutely loved it. He grinned when we told him that you had recommended him on the message boards. Thanks a million for your post. It is a memory we will cherish forever.

Dear Aunt Kiki,
I was so happy 🙂 to hear that you read my thread and took my advice on sailing with CAPTAIN PHIL and you found him as amazing as we did. He is truly one in a million! We have already starting saving up for our next trip back to STJ - we plan on doing several sails with him next time! Oh - I was so sorry to hear about your villa experience - I'm glad you didn't let it tarnish your entire trip...

We took your advice too and took the daysail with Capt. Phil. He was great with the kids and even my 5 year old snorkeled. We saw a large spotted eagle ray and a turtle. Capt. Phil snorkels with you and you can tell he loves what he does. We told him we'd give him a good review on the bulletin boards!

Hi Mel...I am so happy that you sailed with Capt. Phil - isn't he just a treasure! Did he mention if he his knee surgery is still going forward as planned in August? We can't wait to get back on his boat next year - hopefully !! <')))<

I couldn't agree with you all regarding Captian Phil. You will meet thousands of people over a lifetime, and outside of your family and circle of friends you will only remember a handful. Phil Chalker is one of them. He's not inviting you on his boat, but rather into his home and indeed his life.

Hi Cindy, yes he is still planning on knee surgery in August. I don't know how long he'll be out of commission, but at least it's just one knee. I'm so glad I read the posts about him before we went, it was hard to make a decision which daysail to choose and he was perfect for young kids. His first mate, Tarn, was good with them too.
